When I was in college studying toward a history degree, I always felt powerfully drawn to the pictures in our textbooks. Sure, the stories and their impact on humanity were remarkable. But there was something about the photographs that captured my imagination. The simple idea that these breathtaking moments had been frozen in time by an attentive artist with a camera mesmerized me. 

But when my daughter smiled at me for the very first time, I realized that some of the most breathtaking moments don’t happen in front of a crowd or end up in history books. They happen right here in our own homes. They decorate our walls. They fill our albums. From the simplicity of annual school photos to the milestones magnificently marked, our family stories are some of the most beautiful pieces of history on this planet! And yours is one I can’t wait to preserve.
