I’m a San Jose Bay Area family photographer
transforming the cozy joy of family life
into timeless art for your home.
Film photographer, loyal friend,
meticulous planner (definite enneagram 6 here!),
lover of snail mail, and
avid tea collector.
When I was in college studying toward a history degree, I always felt powerfully drawn to the pictures in our textbooks. Sure, the stories and their impact on humanity were remarkable. But there was something about the photographs that captured my imagination. Nothing stuck with me more than Dorthea Lange’s “Migrant Mother.” You’d know it if you saw it—the black-and-white image of a mother whose face tells a story of years spent overcoming challenges for the little ones snuggled against her shoulders and laying in her lap The idea that these remarkable moments, like this simple moment of motherhood, had been frozen in time by an attentive artist with a camera mesmerized me.
When little ones nuzzle into mom’s shoulder and cozy into dad’s bear hug, my heart skips a beat. These moments that feel so intimate and real—like I’ve captured a moment from a family movie night—are the ones you’ll never want to forget.
You and I both know a husband’s natural smile in a photo is about as rare as a newborn sleeping through the night! But when I hear a husband whisper to his wife post-session, “that really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be,” I know I’ve done my job.
Whether you’re 8 months pregnant or just worn out from the daily adventure of motherhood, it’s rare that a mom feels like the radiant goddess people say she is. But when I look through my viewfinder and see the sun dancing through your hair, I get chills knowing the image is going to take your breath away.
I put special effort into ensuring your littles feel as celebrated as you do during your session. So, the moment they tell me about their favorite dinosaur or laugh at my joke means the world. And when they hug me goodbye?! Forget about it! I’ll be reliving that moment for months!
Every family has a unique personality. My mission is to draw it out and document it. Sure, it can take time to get comfy in front of the camera, but the moment everyone relaxes into the experience, setting their personalities free…these are the images you’ll treasure most. And I am honored to give them to you.
By avoiding trends and opting for timeless sophistication, we can create heirlooms you’ll be overjoyed to display forever. Film adds character, depth, and texture while enhancing color and flattering any skin tone. It also invites me to slow down, be more present, and truly engage with moments as they come. This makes it beyond worth the added care and investment the medium demands.
